Allocation decisions shouldn't rely on spreadsheets and intuition.
Crewpathio was founded in 2021 by people who had spent years inside professional services firms watching resource allocation get made via bi-weekly committee meetings, tribal knowledge, and educated guesswork. We believe that bench cost, utilization, domain expertise, and client chemistry can all be quantified — and that quantifying them is how you make better allocation decisions at scale.
Built from inside the problem.
Before Crewpathio, Nicole Yamamoto spent seven years managing resource planning operations at a mid-size management consulting firm. Every Thursday morning, a committee of six senior managers would gather for two hours to decide who was going on which engagement. The process was inconsistent, exhausting, and often produced suboptimal outcomes — not because the managers were poor decision-makers, but because they lacked structured data.
Marcus DeLeon had seen the same problem from a different angle. With a background in recommendation systems and graph algorithms at a B2B analytics firm, he recognized that the consulting allocation problem was structurally identical to problems he'd solved in other domains — it just needed someone to model the right signals. They co-founded Crewpathio in 2021 with a specific thesis: operations-research methods applied to people data could replace allocation committees.
Priya Sundaram joined after five years as a resource manager herself. Her domain knowledge shaped the product's vocabulary and UX — the scoring model was designed to surface information that managers actually think about, not abstract ML outputs. James Okonkwo, who had implemented Kantata and Planview at multiple firms, ensured the integration layer was designed for real-world PSA data quality from day one.
"The committee wasn't the problem. The lack of structured data feeding it was. We set out to fix the data layer first."

How we build.
Rigor over heuristics
We don't build features that give managers more ways to override the model. We build features that make the model better so overrides are unnecessary.
Transparency by design
Every match score is explainable. Resource managers see the per-factor breakdown, not just a number. Explainability builds adoption; black-box outputs don't.
PSA-native integration
We built for professional services teams who already have Kantata, Planview, and Workday. We go where the data already lives, not the other way around.
